Inspiration: Mia Farrow and Jean Seberg
These 1960's screen sirens lit up the screen with their Vidal Sassons- esque crops and classic cinematic style. Both Jean Seberg and Mia Farrow look the part of the quintessential leading lady, and their acting chops don't disappoint either in their respective roles in Jean- Luc Godard's Breathless and Roman Polanski's Rosemary's Baby.

Tom Ford's stylish screen adaptation of Christopher Isherwood's 1964 novel is an instant classic. With its impeccable photography, perfect costumes, and extremely talented (not to mention gorgeous) all-star cast, Ford's interpretation of this beautiful story of loss, identity, and the human condition places him among the few directors who, out of an age-old story, are able to create a unique, inspiring vision and cinematic gold.

People We Love: Garance Doré
Earlier today, illustrator/ photographer/ blogger extraordinaire Garance Doré gave a talk at FIT that I was fortunate enough to be in attendance at. She impressed me with her honest yet optimistic insight and advice, stressing that if you're passionate and "work your ass off" (direct quote), it will eventually pay off. Garance's understated grace and keen eye for aesthetics and style are what makes her work so unique and and timeless, not to mention her uncommon levelheadedness and grasp on reality in the fashion world. And she graciously obliged to my photographing her. Are there any reasons not to love her?

This blog- turned- book is a great collection of stories and style inspiration,

Inspiration: Rineke Dijkstra and Mario Sorrenti
Mario's images of Kate never cease to amaze me with their earnest and almost unforgiving realism. This straight approach to photographing people instantly reminds me of Rineke Djikstra's swimmers projects- the simple frankness and emotional honesty in her photographs is haunting and undeniably beautiful.

Perhaps the most sought- after (and most expensive) photography book of the 20th century, Helmut Newton's Sumo brings the coffee table photo book to an entirely new level.
